Crazy thing, I just realized this week that this moment happened 10 years ago. For me winning the Grammy was great and special, but not for the reasons you might think. 2013, was the year that marked 10 years of Pit and I working on music together, the first song being the remix to “She’s Hot” with @tokjamaica (shout out to @craigy_tok , @baycmusic , @alextheoneofficial , @iamdouble_x , @hustlemama ). In that decade, we changed the sound of music and did it organically having fun. We had a tremendous support system and key players in our lives that helped have the impact that we made in the world. In that decade, we sold millions of records, had chart topping hits, toured the world many times over, and met & worked with some of the greatest people in this music industry. With all that said, for me the most memorable things were the effortless way we came up with the music and the fun we were having do it. So because I didn’t get to say thank you that night… I would like to take God for putting me in situations that helped me learn how to create musical memories for people. Would to thank my mother, who busted her ass to put our family in the position possible to win. My father who gave me the music bug, by bringing me to the radio station at 9 years old. Today is my 45th birthday. March 15 This guy right here, my best friend, just gave me a gift. I had said to him, “hey that new VR thing looks cool”. I go to the car and he goes with his own money, buys it and surprises me in the car and says “Happy Birthday buddy” Crazy, not the most emotional person but that one got me.
