May 17 2023 post #headshoulderskneesandtoes w @ofenbachmusic I texted @iamdorianlux and asked him about doing another song together ✨ he texted back with the idea of interpolating a song I’d never heard of called Cambodia by @kimwildeofficial @rickywildeofficial ✨ I was in the studio that day with @_alexander_hauer_ and @bonaparte and I said “guys should we try this? I know it’s a long shot but they seem pretty hyped on the idea.” So we took a chance. I sent it to @ofenbachmusic that night and they loved it but had some changes. The main change was the title which originally was “go all night” (which now feels hilarious and so not the title 😭😭😭) so they flew me out to Paris and @ofenbachmusic and I went into the studio w @jen_jis to make a final version. We labored over the title for at least an hour…. me on rhymewave looking for rhymes with "night" and eventually we landed on "overdrive" which at the time my demoitis brain was like "but guys are we SURE" 😂😂 the original even had a whole other section we cut that i was really passionate about but @ofenbachmusic were like “trust us it’s only about this one melody” 🥹🙏✨ sooooo that was the version that released in October 2023. Now just over a year later it’s gone TOP 10 in 26 countries across Europe, Diamond in France, and multiple Gold, and Platinum certifications worldwide. 🥹🥹🥹 it’s wild the journey a song can go on, this little sound wave in the ether ✨ I remember hearing stories of teenage dream being rewritten over and over and thinking “wow that’s real songwriting” always pushing the bar and now it’s my job ✨ thank you to everyone involved @ofenbachmusic @_alexander_hauer_ @bonaparte @warnermusicfr @the_fabric_mgmt and everyone else from the radio stations to the managements to the labels internationally 🙏✨ it takes a village ! I was walking down the street in Berlin yesterday and I heard “Anthem” playing in the distance. I thought it was coming from a spāti (German bodega lol) and it turns out, it was actually playing on this drunk ladies mini radio 🤣. Story time 📚 in 2016 I got dropped from my record label Universal Germany and decided to hike the entire perimeter of Ibiza as a “spirit journey” if you will 🏝️ while on the hike I deliberated about whether I should continue doing music or go back to school, and Toby my hiking guide from @ibizaoutdoors said someday I‘d sing on the island in the big clubs. So after the big hike, I went back to London and I kept grinding and doing sessions even though I was totally broke, and eventually in 2021 I had the song that changed my life “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes“ with @ofenbachmusic and @quarterhead 💥 now it’s 2025 and I’ve had multiple number ones, top radio hits across the world, and now my first ever AMERICAN DANCE RADIO NUMBER 1 with ”Euphoria“ with @arminvanbuuren @alok and @hitsbylawrent 🥹❤️ if you have a dream, it might take years, but if you always step in the right direction, eventually you will get there ⛰️✨🙏 #inspiration #storytime #dancemusıc #musicjourney #euphoria
